The Qabala or however we may care to spell it is a Hebrew word which means "tradition". It is derived from the root word qibel, meaning "to receive". This refers to the ancient custom of handing down ancient knowledge by oral transmission. What the word Qabala encompasses is an entire body of ancient mystical principals that are the cornerstone and focus of the western religious knowledge. All western spiritual systems can trace their roots to the Qabala or associated disciplines. The exact origins of the Qabala are unclear, but it certainly contains some vestiges of Egyptian, Greek and Chaldean influence.

Frequently, over the centuries, The Qabala has been lost and rediscovered. Its traces can be found form the beginning of time to the present day. It can be found with Abram (Avram) who is he who having gone through many layers of differentiation, receives the pulsation of life which transfigures that proliferation on a level of cosmic action. In simple words, the action of an Avram in his own house has cosmic significance.

What is known is that the Qabala existed for many years as an oral tradition long before it was ever written down in such texts as the Sepher Yetzirah or "The Book of Formation" (100 B.C.-200 A.D.). The tradition was later explained by many medieval mystics. The Royal See practices it as part of our Religious beliefs. We are also the custodians of this knowledge through a number of ancient Orders of Knighthood which pass on this oral tradition to its initiates or neophytes or knights or whatever they may be called. These Orders are namely, The Order of The Sacred Sword and Lance, The Order of The Holy Wisdom, The Order of the Sacred Lamb, The Order of Avram. For further information on these Orders and their regalia please press the Orders button.

"Inheritor of a Dying world, we call thee to the living beauty. Wanderer in the wild darkness, we call thee to the gentle light. Long hast though dwelt in darkness. Quit the night and seek the day."  an extract from an ancient initiation ceremony.

By its nature, the Qabala is knowledge that cannot be communicated directly but may be expressed only through symbolism and metaphor. It draws on the mystics" awareness of the transcendence of the eternal deity. You may also be interested in reading our section on The Royal Principal of nature by pressing the button "Royal Principal". Another element of the Qabala is that it seeks to reveal the hidden mysteries of the devine as well as the connection between the devine life on one hand and the life of humans on the other. The goal of the Qabalist is to discover the keys to the understanding of arcane symbols that reflect these eternal mysteries.

The Qabala is therefore a trusty guide, leading to a comprehension of the universe and ones own self. In other words know thy self and heal thyself. It reveals the nature of certain physical and psychological phenomena. Once these are correctly understood, the student can use these principles  to exercise control over the conditions and circumstances of his or her life, provided it is in line with God's will.

To some the Qabala is a study of the Tree of Life, to others it is a study of the twenty two graphs which are used as letters in the Hebrew alphabet. These letters are used to designate different states or structures of the one cosmic energy, which is essence and semblance of all that is. Even though they correspond to numbers, symbols and ideas they factually are that which they designate. To others it has other meanings.

We are approaching here a language which is not a by-product of censorial references, but a would-be transmission from the unknown. Hence the difficulty in explaining it to the uninitiated, because of the inability of the human mind to grasp that which in not contained in the normal frame of recognition.

QABALISTIC NOTES ON THE NAME AVRAM

It is Qabalistic. Frequently, over the centuries, the Qabala has been lost and rediscovered. We find this with Avram; in still more remote ages, it disappears from sight of enquirers, but not from those who have inherited the most ancient of knowledge.

Avram means "he who possesses, the basis of the world" and is sometimes a symbol of all that radiates from the sun.

Avram is he who, having gone through many layers of differentiation, receives the pulsation of life, which transfigures that proliferation on a level with cosmic action. In simple words, the action of an Avram in his own, house has a cosmic significance.

Avram is the beginning of yet another era where religion frees itself and directs itself towards the perception of the Inner Light
of God.

Before we get too deep we will stop and if you require further information please feel free to contact The Royal See for further information.
